Apply a thin layer to the rubber gaskets around your car doors.

Simply rub the vaseline over the rubber gasket where it seals to the fridge or freezer.

Seriously i doubted this would work.
Ok something i ve noticed when it s freezing cold in the morning the rubber door seals seem to freeze to the metal door frame i assume moisture gets trapped and freezes.
This would include vaseline.
And then close the door and be amazed.
For preventative measures some manufacturers recommend applying silicone spray around the rubber door and trunk seals to prevent this problem.
Seal it up vaseline or petroleum jelly can soften a dried gasket so that it will form a good seal around the door of your refrigerator.
Would a good smear of vaseline on the rubber seals help.
But it has been close to four months since i tried the experiment and the freezer is still frost free.
The vaseline won t repair damage such as cracks or tears.
This will help prevent doors from freezing shut and help prolong the life of expensive door seals.
